We have had a great couple of weeks getting to know each other in the classroom and setting up our routines and procedures. We have an amazing group this year and we are very excited for the year to come. Here is a little sneak peek into our classroom this week.
Turn and Talk
We have been practicing how to turn and talk to each other about the content we are learning. We need to sit knee to knee and eye to eye. We listen with attention and share our thinking. It is great to listen to the conversations that our students are having.
Readers' Workshop
We have been learning about what readers do. We have learned how to find a quiet spot to read with "helicopter space." We have also been working on building our reading stamina. We are up to reading for 25 minutes! The kids are doing a great job!
